Please Review Our Current Practice Policy Regarding COVID-19 Virus Below


9:30am-2:00pm Saturdays (Currently)

We are currently allowing the total of 3 people within our waiting room at any time. 2 people seated and one being served. If the waiting room is full, please take a seat outside. We have outdoor seating and umbrellas available incase of bad weather. 


In addition to the steps we’re taking as a practice to protect everyone who works in and visits our practice, we kindly ask that you take the following precautions:

  • When attending appointments within the consult room please keep the number of people accompanying your pet to a minimum of 1 person.
  • If you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, had close contact with someone who has, or you’re experiencing symptoms, and your pet needs veterinary care, please call us. We will be able to advise you on how your pets can receive the care they need.
  • If you need to change any appointments because you are in isolation, please call us and we will rearrange these for you.
  • If you have been self-isolated with COVID-19 and have recently visited us at Hill's Vets please let us know as soon as possible. This is so we can implement measures to protect our staff and other clients, some of whom are elderly or could be more susceptible to illness.
  • We are following the government’s most recent advice regarding the measures we need to take to help control the spread of COVID-19. There’s provision at the practice for you to hand sanatise your hands when you arrive and before you leave.

Please contact us if you’d like further advice about caring for your pet over the coming months.

After your consultation, please settle any outstanding bills with our reception team before you leave.

Failure to keep to appointments

Please note, those that fail to keep to or cancel appointments prior to their  appointment time will be charged the non-cancellartion fee. This will allow us to offer these to other clients in need of appointments. as you are aware we are often fully booked, so being able to accomodate all of our clients where we can is important to us. 

The treatment/medication as discussed in the consultation will be given to you with your pet prior to you leaving.

Please phone if you would like to organise a longer prescription. We require at least 24 hours notice for this.

If your pet is due a booster annual vaccination, but you are unable to come into the practice, we are happy to defer these until time periods stated below. If your pet is due a rabies vaccination, this will still need to be done to be fit to travel abroad. 


Puppies & kitten 1st and 2nd primary vaccinations will be done. 

  • Dogs/Cats - If their 1st booster vaccinations are due (1 year after their primary 1st/2nd ones were given) we will still do these on time.
  • Cats - ******WE NO LONGER HAVE ANY CAT VACCINES AVAILABLE/IN STOCK. This is due to a worldwide shortage and we currently have no due date as to when these will be back in stock. ********
  • Rabbit - vaccinations will be done as usual
  • Rabies - vaccinations will be done as usual - it is important that this vaccination is done on time. This can be done early if you are unable to come in on the date the vaccine is due. 

Unfortunately we will be unable to carry out home visits for both general checks or euthanasias. Due to the current pandemic, it is now not safe for our staff to come into clients homes.

Tribute To Carol

Dear Clients,

It is with heartbreaking sadness that we announce the death of Carol Hill. She was the beating heart of the practice and dedicated nearly fifty years to making it a wonderful place to work and visit. She always gave her utmost to every person and animal she encountered, and many of you will have been lucky enough to have experienced her warmth and compassion as well as her common sense, often littered with a good dose of humour. She has left us with a strong legacy and we intend to ensure this is honoured. Please bear with us as we try to work through this very difficult time together.

Her family have set up a page of remembrance for her should anyone wish to post their thoughts or simply read those of others.
